NRW & Germany as Production Location

Germany

Germany is one of the most attractive filming sites in the world. With subsidies and support available at both federal and state level as well as attractive financing resources provided by private and federal banks, a first-class film industry infrastructure, top-notch service providers and an outstanding range of filming locations, Germany offers conditions for film production that are second to none.

North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW)

North Rhine-Westphalia, the most populous German state, is the leading media site in Germany, home to the largest German private TV group, RTL, as well as the large, Cologne-based public broadcasting network, the WDR group.

More than 63,000 companies and 342,000 people work in the media industry. Industry turnover in the region exceeded 120 billion euros last year. Through the NRW.Bank, the region brings competent, film-financing professionals to the table, while the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW (NRW Film Foundation) operates one of the largest film subsidy programs in Germany, and the regional administration supports the film industry to the utmost.

NRW: In the Heart of Europe
